Professional background Having played the violin since the age of 14 gave me the idea of becoming a violin maker. I studied cabinet making in secondary school, which helped me gain substantial knowledge of timber as a material, and allowed me to undertake several trainings in various manufacturers' workshops. I therefore entered the Mirecourt school in 2001 with a substantial foundation in the craft of violin-making. The 3 years I spent in the Mirecourt school have proved very beneficial for me. My teachers M Legeard and Nicosia have mainly taught me the techniques of the French method. The presence of many violin makers and apprentices in this town represents a unique opportunity for new ideas and experiences. After graduating in Art and Crafts, I continued my training in the Mirecourt workshops |
